B60-90-0104 FAA-PMA Spherical Bearing – SKF Aerospace replacement for Airbus Helicopters 11-10097P

Supersession notice: B60-90-0104 has been superseded by B60-90-0103. Ask us for availability of either part number.

Same spherical bearing as the Airbus part. According to SKF, the B60-90-0104 is identical to SKF P/N 11-10097P – the spherical bearing SKF manufactures and supplies to Airbus Helicopters. Same SKF factory, same design, same self-lubricating liner and coatings. The only difference is the release path: FAA-PMA with an FAA Form 8130-3 instead of the Airbus part number.

The B60-90-0104 is an FAA-PMA approved spherical bearing manufactured by SKF Aerospace (Falconer, NY). It is approved by the FAA as a replacement for the Airbus Helicopters Spherical Bearing P/N 11-10097P, 1110097P, on the H135 / EC135 models listed below.

Blackbird Aviation stocks and sources SKF PMA bearings and rod ends for helicopter operators, MROs and parts buyers worldwide, with the FAA PMA supplement available for download on this page.

Same SKF factory that supplies Airbus

According to SKF, this FAA-PMA part is manufactured at SKF (UK) Ltd. – the same production facility that manufactures the corresponding parts for Airbus Helicopters. In most cases SKF is the sole supplier of these parts to Airbus.

SKF developed the PMA article from its own OEM product, so performance is identical to the part SKF builds for Airbus. For example, the self-lubricating liner system and the coatings that determine the wear performance of the plain bearing are the same on the PMA and OEM articles.

How it is certified and shipped

  • PMA holder: SKF Aeroengine, Falconer, NY (USA). An FAA PMA can only be held by a US production site, which is why the approval sits with SKF in the United States.
  • Quality: SKF Falconer receives the parts from SKF (UK) Ltd. and performs additional quality inspections.
  • Release certificate: each part ships with an FAA Form 8130-3 Authorized Release Certificate, signed by an SKF quality representative holding FAA-delegated inspection authority.
  • Why not EASA Form 1: only Airbus, as the aircraft type certificate holder, is authorized to release these parts directly from SKF (UK) Ltd. with an EASA Form 1. The PMA route is the FAA-approved alternative.

Why choose an FAA-PMA part

FAA-PMA parts are designed, tested and produced under an FAA-approved design and quality system. They typically offer lower cost and better availability than the OEM part while meeting the airworthiness requirements of the aircraft they are approved for.

FAQ

Is B60-90-0104 the same part as Airbus 11-10097P?
According to SKF, yes: B60-90-0104 is identical to SKF P/N 11-10097P, the part SKF supplies to Airbus Helicopters. The FAA approves it as a replacement on the models listed in PMA Supplement 18; always confirm installation eligibility against the supplement and your approved maintenance data.

Why is it less expensive than the Airbus part?
Same part, same factory – it simply reaches you through SKF's own FAA-PMA release instead of through the Airbus distribution channel.

Which certificate comes with the part?
FAA Form 8130-3, signed by SKF's FAA-delegated quality representative in Falconer, NY. An EASA Form 1 is not available for PMA parts – only Airbus, as type certificate holder, can issue it for the OEM part.

Is it accepted outside the United States (EASA, ANAC)?
Acceptance of FAA-PMA parts depends on the bilateral agreement with the FAA and on the operator's approved data. Check with your authority or CAMO before installation.

About SKF

SKF (Svenska Kullagerfabriken) was founded in 1907 in Gothenburg, Sweden, after engineer Sven Wingquist invented the self-aligning ball bearing. Listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and present in around 130 countries, SKF is widely regarded as the world's largest bearing manufacturer. Its aerospace business supplies bearings, rod ends and spherical plain bearings for aircraft engines, helicopter rotors and flight controls – including parts SKF supplies to Airbus Helicopters. The FAA lists the holder of the B60-90 PMA (PQ0289NE) as SKF Aeroengine – Falconer, New York (formerly MRC Bearings), one of the oldest names in American precision bearings.
